- E.O. Wilson
Inspired by Edward O. Wilson’s book, Biophilia, this ongoing body of work explores the concept of instinct through a deep engagement with the natural world. Originally coined by Erich Fromm, biophilia refers to the innate human tendency to seek connection with nature and other living beings. By observing color, movement and perspectives of the natural world, I seek to engage with my own innate curiosity to connect with other forms of life.
Film photography is an important part of my creative process because it necessitates delayed feedback requiring self-trust in the creation of my experience. I am able to abandon a sense of perfection by welcoming light leaks, and the unexpected beauty of expired and slower speed films.
